The FSB 100 is the Fortune Small Business list of America’s fastest growing small public companies, representing the graduating class of the annual list of small businesses. Financial research firm, Zacks, identifies companies with annual revenue of less than $200million and stock price of more than a dollar, ranking them based on their earnings and growth over the past three years especially in terms of revenue and stock performance. You should be advised that this list does not include real estate establishments and many financial institutions, because these’ll simply overrun the list with their sheer numbers.
The State of California tops this list with 13 of the FSB 100 having their headquarters in the state, followed by Florida and Texas, both with 9. William Stone, head of SS&C Technologies tops the list as the richest executive of all of America’s fastest growing small business companies that made this list, owning nearly one hundred and twenty eight million dollars worth of shares or stakes in his own company. Rick Smith of Taser International is next with $88.4 million, closely followed by Monarch Casino’s Ben Farahi with $79.6. With that much money running in their veins, it’s little wonder they are referred to by many as mini-Buffets.
The top ten on this list of small business companies are, in order: Taser, Laserscope, Ngas Reseources, J2 Global Communications, eResearch Technology, Sonic Solutions, ASV, EXX, Sands Regent, and Diodes. EXX has grown the most by revenue in the three years prior, with a difference of about 140.8% over the same time frame. Nevada Gold and Casinos at #54, with only $6.6 million in revenue as at the time of the composition of this list has actually grown by 134.3% already, while Taser International at #1 has made a 121.7% difference over the previous three years.
